That's what dad taught us to say when we were trying to call the horses in, "MOPE". I'm sure I've asked him a hundred times why that gets horses attention, and well I don't know that I ever got a real answer.
Occasionally the horses have gotten out of the pasture and dad would round them up and chase them back in like a rodeo clown. (Not that I am calling him that, just saying he's that good!) We would watch thinking there is no way we could act that wild to get the horses put back up.
Well tonight was another lesson we had to learn on our own. We noticed the horses were out in the front yard, where they should not be! Our first instinct was to call Dad. Our second was to just sit there and think how in the world could we possibly get these horses put back up, we have never done this before!! We called on Grandad, but with him recovering from his surgery we thought maybe we should try ourselves, before he hurts himself. With no clue of what to do, we put our heads together and came up with a plan! We got in dad's truck, acted like maniacs (learned from dad), and chased them right back into the pasture!! It was that easy!! It was all Mom really!! She is a pro already!!
Dad has taught us well, even though we never knew it!
It's the little things in life that we take for granted everyday. I didn't want to make this a sad post, but hoped to show how proud I am of my Daddy!! He has taught us so many little things, that didn't seem to matter so much at the time, but are now used in our everyday life! At those times, even though it seems like we are on our own trying to figure things out, I can feel daddy there, helping us out along the way!
I just love him and miss his smiling face!
